When will we travel next?
With travel restrictions and safety concerns in mind, we are currently planning trips to Mexico and Peru. However, all trips are dependent on travel restrictions changing.
We are still building bridges and relationships through the magic of technology. Join us for weekly zoom happy hours and conversations. Because remember, our vision is to build a more connected world - and while we see the experience of visiting with people in the community as a tool for building meaningful connections, it is not the only way to achieve connection.
Our neighbors to the South, many have had the pleasure of traveling to it’s beaches without ever getting to see how beautiful true Mexican culture is. You have the option of traveling to la Ciudad de Mexico where the bustling capital was built atop ancient ruins and public transportation is a miracle to witness. Or stay in Los Reyes where a weekly women’s group welcomes you with open arms to craft and share a meal. You could also travel to Tecuanipan, a 3 hour bus ride away where you garden with local families then cook together the food that was gathered.
Known for the Incan ruins, and delicious food, Peru is a must see travel destination. In the capital city of Lima you would have a chance to cook with a chef who describes where ingredients are sourced from and how they play a role in the culture. In Lunahuana you would get to learn how the river where you went rafting plays a vital role in the town’s survival. In Cusco you would not just see the ruins but spend time with the people who have spent their lives living in the mountains.
